Parole Hearings
About This Charge
Carli Geist represents clients at parole hearings before both the Ontario Parole Board (OPB) and the Parole Board of Canada (PBC). Whether you are serving a provincial sentence of under two years or a federal sentence of two years or more, having a prepared representative at your hearing makes a difference. The Board's overriding concern is protection of the public — your job is to show them a credible, detailed release plan and demonstrate genuine insight into your offence. That case does not build itself. For provincial hearings (OPB), Carli works with clients held in Ontario correctional facilities to pursue parole and Unescorted Temporary Absences (UTAs). For federal hearings (PBC), she assists clients in federal penitentiaries with Day Parole, Full Parole, and Statutory Release review hearings — including detention reviews where CSC is seeking to keep a client past their two-thirds date. Preparation is everything. Carli reviews your institutional record and program participation, develops a solid release plan with confirmed housing, employment, and community supports, drafts written submissions in advance of the hearing, and prepares you to speak to the Board about your offence, your insight, and your path forward. On hearing day she attends and makes submissions on your behalf.

Why You Need a Paralegal
Ontario traffic charges come with technical requirements the prosecution must meet. Officer notes, device calibration records, proper procedure at the roadside — if any of these are deficient, your charge can be reduced or withdrawn. Carli Geist reviews disclosure on every case to identify those weaknesses before setting foot in court.
Paralegals regulated by the Law Society of Ontario are fully authorized to represent clients in Provincial Offences Act proceedings. You get professional advocacy at a fraction of the cost of a lawyer.
